Coos Bay, Oregon

July 9-12 – Oceanside Beachfront Resort, Coos Bay, OR .  Third stop on our journey and so very beautiful here.  The weather has been spectacular, sunny everyday.  We are camped right at the beach and my favorite thing to do is walk, checkout tide pools, hike, read a great book and sit all day on the beach.  We did drive up the coast to Reedsport because we used to visit Clark’s cousins there when we lived in Bend.  Also, there is an elk preserve and we found a large group of “bachelor bulls” along the road.  They looked like statues and were not at all concerned as many other people stopped to take their pictures.  We hiked up the bluff you see in one of the photos and took a picture from the top looking down.  From up there we had a good view of Cape Arago lighthouse.  You can see that no one can get to it any longer since the ocean was eroded the cliff so it sits frozen in time. Tomorrow we leave for Newport, continuing up the coast.
